Vulnerable Adult Act and Maltreatment of Minors Act

This course reviews the definitions of maltreatment according to the Maltreatment of Minors Act and the Vulnerable Adult Act.  The instructor will provide examples of commonly occurring maltreatment.  Each law has different responsibilities for reporting maltreatment, and those requirements will be thoroughly discussed.  The instructor will discuss how direct-care staff and management staff can minimize the risk of maltreatment occurring.  The instructor will also walk through how to fill out a maltreatment report, as well as other necessary documentation.  This class fulfills the training requirements of 245D.


About the Instructor:

Jason Hoffrogge, is the training director for Orion Associates, a human resources agency for companies working with people who have disabilities. Jason has 23 years of experience in working with people who have disabilities in residential, vocational, and crisis settings.
