Establishing Professional Boundaries with Clients Who Have Cognitive Deficits
The task of establishing boundaries in a professional working relationship is complicated when the individual has cognitive and social deficits. This seminar is geared toward social workers who work with clientele who have cognitive, social, and emotional deficits. The seminar will explore the common cognitive, social, and emtotional traits that make boundaries with this clientele more challenging. We will explore guidelines that social workers can use to establish expectations and limits, as well as develop practices that protect the worker and the client.
Jason Hoffrogge, is the training director for Orion Associates, a human resources agency for companies working with people who have disabilities. Jason has 18 years of experience in working with people who have disabilities in residential, vocational, and crisis settings. Jason has also been a part-time firefighter and first responder for the past nine years.
