Orion ISO celebrates 12 years of service

Minnesota fiscal agent credits dedication to self-determination and quality of service with continued success

Representatives from Orion ISO, a Minnesota fiscal agent and company related to Orion Associates, announced they are celebrating their twelfth anniversary this month. The organization provides accounting, finance, human services and human resources services for those with disabilities and the elderly in the state of Minnesota. Founded in May of 2001, Orion ISO currently reaches more than 1100 consumers on a monthly basis and is one of the largest fiscal agents in Minnesota.

“We believe the success and longevity of Orion ISO is due to many components, but the most important has been our strong focus on quality of care for our consumers,” said Erin Huldeen, Program Administrator for Orion ISO. “We’re deeply committed to the principles of self-determination and self-directed services for those with disabilities and the elderly. Our concern and respect for our consumers is what drives everything we do. Plus as a Minnesota organization we can provide personal service and really get to know our consumers.”

Orion ISO was one of the first to provide self-directed and consumer directed supports services in the state of Minnesota. The organization provides a range of services that provide individuals with greater choice and flexibility over their services and funds. Orion ISO bases its services on the philosophy of self-determination, principles that include individual control over resources and care as well as self-advocacy for those with disabilities and the elderly.

“There are many families I have worked with for more than 10 years through Orion ISO,” said Missy Schraut, Orion ISO Coordinator. “The families see the real benefits of the services. That could mean the loved ones stays at home with their family, or receives the equipment they need to thrive, or even attends a therapy they might not otherwise receive.”

“We’ve been doing this since the Minnesota fiscal agent program began so we have a lot of experience. Everyone deserves to make decisions regarding their own care or the care of a loved one,” said Cassie Yeats, Orion ISO Billing Administrator. “We enjoy helping families make it work.”

Orion ISO employees have been with the organization for an average of nearly eight years. Prior to 2001, partner organization Orion Associates provided fiscal agent services to consumers in the state of Minnesota.
